Battle of ElamBattle of Elam - What is the first ever recorded battle in history? Well that's an interesting question. Technically, if you count the Narmer Palette as a record, it would have to be the unification of Egypt by Menes. It's hard to imagine he accomplished that feat through negotiation. But after that, according to the Sumerian King List*, a significant conflict occurred around 2700 BC between Sumer and Elam. Apparently Sumer was victorious. There is no other information or archaeological evidence of the event.

*The Sumerian King List is virtually the only written record that exists on Mesopotamian history from this period
