Jonah the ProphetJonah - The prophet who pulled off the seemingly impossible.  He preached the word of the Lord to the Assyrian city of Nineveh, and its people repented.  He did not go willingly, however, but tried to flee when the Lord commanded him to go.  Outside of the book which bears his name, there is only one mention of Jonah.

"He (Jerobaom II) restored the border of Israel from the entrance of Hamath as far as the sea of the Arabah, according to the word of the Lord, the God of Israel, which He spoke through His servant Jonah the son of Amittai, the prophet, who was of Gath-hepher." (II Kings 14:25, NASB)
